As the sector association MailDB we have identified that in recent years we have paid too little attention to an important societal development: the prevention of waste. And consumers also tell us that we have made opting out of the delivery of advertising leaflets and free newspapers too complicated. And this is despite the fact that as distributors we rely on goodwill from satisfied advertisers and consumers. InMijnBus is going to boost the medium by improving the effective reach for our advertisers and contributing to a more sustainable world with less waste.
Through your own account, you can easily select areas where you want to distribute, with each selection you see the numbers to be printed adding to the total. You can save distribution plans for another occasion. With the push of a button, you will receive up-to-date delivery lists based on your area selection with addresses where you can deliver that week.
For professional distributors, there is the option to connect via the InMijnBus API. This gives the distributor up-to-date insight into the net numbers that the advertiser needs to print, and they can compile the delivery lists per delivery district.
Yes. Just like the NO-NO, NO-YES, and YES stickers, this system costs money that ultimately has to be raised by the person who uses them, which will often be the distributor who passes on the costs to the advertiser. Rates have not yet been determined but will depend on the number of households requested by the distributor per week. This contribution covers the costs of InMijnBus such as IT development, hosting, fulfillment of QR codes, call center, complaint handling, office costs, etc.

No. Part of the code of conduct is that we will not do that. InMijnBus only provides the accredited distributor with address details where delivery is allowed, on the one hand, to determine the exact print run and on the other hand to carry out the delivery according to household preferences. In addition, data will be provided to accredited users and municipalities at an aggregated level (e.g. place of residence or PC4) for analysis and advisory purposes. By requiring registration for an account on InMijnBus, we exclude companies with other intentions.

No. You can also develop your own system, as long as you ensure that you distribute based on a stated preference by households.
Then MailDB will contact the advertiser or publisher in case of complaints and refer them to the terms and conditions from the Code VOR. From that moment on, the advertiser is responsible for the complaint handling. If it does not do so or does not do so properly, the complaint escalates to the Advertising Code Committee, which can impose sanctions.
The VOR Code relates to unaddressed advertising printed matter, samples, and free newspapers. A category that falls outside this, for example, is information from the local government, for example, residents' information about road closures, work in the neighborhood, etc. But also, for example, electoral lists for elections and non-commercial neighborhood messages fall outside the VOR Code.
